About us

We’re a community launderette and social space on Grasmere Street in the Everton/ Anfield area of Liverpool. We’re reimagining the local amenity by offering affordable ecological services, as well as a space for people to gather, talk and learn.

Kitty’s Launderette is a social business run by a small team of Liverpool residents so all our profits are reinvested back into our community, helping to make more good things happen.

We’ve got good coffee and great free Wi-Fi, so it’s a nice place to chat, work and hang out whilst doing your self-service laundry or you can leave it with our lovely team who will wash, dry and fold your laundry. We also provide competitive commercial laundry services to businesses and organisations across Liverpool City Region.

The Launderette is run by a small team of Liverpool residents as a social business rooted in the local community. all our profits are invested back into our improving our services and offering more community activities. We are named Kitty’s Launderette, in honour of local historical figure Kitty Wilkinson, who was instrumental in establishing the first public wash house in the country back in 1842, here in Liverpool.

Our name comes from the pioneering Kitty Wilkinson, who was instrumental in the movement to open the UK’s first Public Wash House in 1842 on Upper Frederick Street, Liverpool. We’re proud to continue the legacy of the washhouses and launderettes of Liverpool with our little launderette on Grasmere Street.
