Our launderette is always staffed by several of our friendly team who will help you use the machines for DIY, take payment and make you a cuppa if you’re sitting in, There is no need to book in advance and we take cash and card.
DIY Washing and Drying
-Do It Yourself (DIY) washing and drying are offered at cost price to make it as affordable as possible for our community.
-Kitty’s Launderette team members will instruct you how to use the machines, Please comply with their instruction and knowledge of the machines as you may be refused service if you do not. This includes refusal to wash items which we believe will damage our equipment.
-Please pay for your DIY machine and detergent use with the KL team once you know your usage.
-DIY requires the customers to do all aspects of the process. KL have no responsibility for any DIY items left in machines beyond the length of the cycle or around the launderette space in baskets/bags etc. KL team are not responsible for transferring items between machines or bagging your items.
-Check your clothing pockets before loading the machine, non textile items can damage our machines and cost a lot to repair.
-You are welcome to go and come back during the cycle but must be back by the end of the cycle to remove from machines and take away.
-No DIY items must be left in the launderette at the end of the day.
Service Washes
-KL Team members do the laundry for you and that incurs additional labour costs and secure storage of your laundry until you collect it.
-Small service washes must be dropped off before 12pm if requiring same day service on basis of availability.
-Please specify exactly what services you require, including but not limited to (temperature, dry cycle, eco or bio detergents, hang dry items, stain treatment, colour catchers etc) as we can not be responsible for things we are not made aware of.
-All laundry must be paid for in full on collection and before any more laundry can be dropped off.
-You must leave a full contact name and phone number with all service washes for us to contact you with any questions or for collection.
-Items must be collected at the stated return date/time, if you are unable to do so you must contact us to agree a new collection date and time. We have limited space in Kitty’s Launderette for storage and we appreciate your quick collection.
-You must check your laundered items before you leave to ensure they are as you expected, as we accept no liability for items once you have left the launderette
-Laundry left for more then 3 months will be donated to a local charity.
Ironing
-You must leave a full contact name and phone number with all service washes for us to contact you with any questions or for collection.
-We will endeavor to meet your desired turn around time but our capacity varies depending on what work is already in the queue. A KL team member will advise on the turnaround time upon drop off.
-Please specify if you want your ironing to be folded or hung up, hangars can be provided by us for an additional charge.
-We always recommend the wash, dry and iron service for better results. Please be aware that if your items are overdried before arriving to us, certain creases will not come out without extra washing which incurs extra cost.
-If bringing in items for just ironing, they must be recently cleaned, and kitty’s Launderette team may refuse ironing on this basis.
