February Newsletter 2023
Hello and Happy New Year!
We hope you've had a lovely holiday season and are full of vim and vigor for 2023, can you believe its already the start of Feburary! We have had a brilliant 2022, with a great deal of successes both within the community and the business itself - including a variety of events and initiatives, plus our team almost doubling in size! None of this would have been possible without the support of you, the wonderful customers and friends who frequent and support us, so we thank you immensely.
Over the past few months we have had some great events that are definitely worth mentioning. Our lovely events lead, Anthony, has been continuing our project with Merseyside Waste and Recycling Authority aimed at reusing, reduce and recycling textile waste. We have hosted some Natural tie dye workshops, our winter clothes swap in the launderette as well as a 5 week recycled banner making morning with the Breck Road Library craft group! If you would like to read more about the MWRA and their work please follow this link

Fair Emplyment Charter
We have been selected as part of the first group of local businesses to be accredited by the Liverpool City Region Fair Employment Charter. The charter aims to promote best employment practice in areas such as:
Pay the Real Living Wage
Clamp down on insecure work or zero hours contracts
Offer a real seat at the table to trade union
Give staff opportunities to progress and thrive.
This means a great deal to us at Kitty’s, our cooperative members work hard each and every day (other than wednesdays!) to provide a service that deserves this recognition. Find out more here
Supporting Our Community
We have been looking at how we can develop and expand our Free Washing Voucher Scheme. This was something we first did during the pandemic as a way to support people struggling financially. However with the duality of the cost of living crisis and our organisations commitment to support our community, we knew it needed to be returned.
We are collaborating with several local organisations, each uniquely placed within the neighbourhood to reach those who need it most, and our team has been working hard behind the scenes to facilitate this. If you would like to donate to this project we would welcome the generosity, or if you find yourself in need please talk to a member of our team about how we can help.
Customer Survey
Finally, throughout February we are running a customer survey to find out what you, our customers, friends, and supporters would like to see from Kitty’s going forward. We are looking for honest, helpful feedback on our laundry services, community activities and events, how they are working and how best we can improve on them. Your input is really valued and we appreciate you spending 10mins to complete the survey.
Please follow the Link to fill in the short survey online before the 28th Feb or Pop on down to Kitty's for a cuppa and fill one out for us there.
